Property Shoot Preparation Checklist
Following this pre-shoot checklist will help ensure that your home is photographed quickly, efficiently, and with the best possible results
Interior:
- Replace any burnt lightbulbs and ensure all bulbs are the same color temperature
- Hide any sensitive, personal or identifiable information
- Declutter and put away shoes, clothing, pet items, toys, etc.
- When possible, arrange the furniture in a way to maximize space
- Clean appliances and remove all items from countertops and kitchen sink
- Remove all items from the refrigerator, including pictures and magnets
- Straighten the dining table and push in all chairs
- Hide clothes, robes and towels in bathrooms (color coordinated towels OK)
- Remove all personal items from bathroom vanities, bath tubs and showers
- Make beds, organize pillows, straighten picture frames/artwork, etc.
- Clean mirrors, glass or any other reflective surfaces
Exterior:
- Remove vehicles from driveway and away from the front of the home
- Place garbage bins inside the garage or out of sight
- Organize deck and backyard furniture
Before photographer arrives:
- Turn ON all lights in the house
- Open (or adjust in the same way) all blinds and window treatments
- Turn off all TVs, computer screens, and ceiling fans
- Put all toilet lids down
- Make sure pets are out of the home or kept out of the photographer’s way
